At the NaCCRA 2014 Spring Meeting Bob Nagele of Connecticut Elucidates the Nature of Most CCRC Residents Ownership
Although an Entrance Fee contract is often called a buy in, and although many CCRC marketing departments speak of "selling" residential units, most residents in CCRCs do not have ownership as a result of their Entrance Fees.
Moreover, contrary to the expectations of many residents a not-for-profit CCRC can be sold to a for profit entity and, thereafter, be operated on the basis of for profit principles.
